| Ellsworth Revisited: The Artist’s View The inaugural show for the Courthouse Gallery Fine Art was inspired by Carroll Sargent Tyson, an American Impressionist (1878-1956), who painted Ellsworth on numerous occasions. The Tyson painting, Union River at Ellsworth, 1921, was on exhibit and commemorative prints of the image are available. For the show, eighteen noted artists from the area created new works using Ellsworth as the theme, and a selection of each artist’s other works was also on display. Some of the Ellsworth images are still available and can be seen by clicking the artist’s name (right). |
